This project was a fun one because we were able to reuse a bunch of existing material to reclaim the barn and other farm structures.
On one structure we removed the old gutters and spot replaced and added new 2x6s wherever they were needed for new gutter installation.
We did much the same on another structure but this time on both sides of the building. We also installed drip edge extension on the backside of the building for proper drainage to gutter.
On the bigger barn structure, we removed the existing roofing and saved it for siding and then installed new metal roofing. There was damage to the supports so we repaired those. The metal we salvaged from the roof we then used as siding for the south wall of the structure but not before adding proper backing as needed. We also removed metal siding from the other walls, including around the fuel tank, then pushed the wall back to square it all up, repaired the framing as needed, and then reinstalled the siding. Lastly, we removed the gutter, cut back the tails, removed 2x4 supports and installed new, sturdier 2x8s to prep for new gutter installation.
